Hii i don?t have a job right now, the car insurance bills are very high, can somebody suggest me cheaper insurance , currently i am with geico and am in Texas.

I have a friend that heard a rumor that you have to file some sort of SR24 (not exactly what it is) with your car insurance or if you get in an accident and they find out you have one on your record, they won?t pay for the car. I?m confused, but dont want to hang ourselves either.

That SR22 form is an endorsement on your auto policy ? you USUALLY have to have it, if you?ve been driving WITHOUT insurance, or your license has been suspended. It?s not triggered by the DUI, it?s triggered by the suspension or lack of insurance.
Yes, they?ll find out about that DUI on their own ? they?re going to run a motor vehicle record check every time your policy renews, and they?ll find it then. Don?t listen to rumors. When in doubt, talk to your agent.

i have a babysitting job in the summer and i have to drive two kids (4 year old and 7 year old). i have liability insurance on my car.. does this cover the people that are in my car (me driving)? if not.. what do i need to do to get them covered? i have farmers insurance.

Cancelling Car Insurance in Texas?
I was in a car accident and found out that the guy that hit me had insurance long enough to get a card and then cancelled it. He showed his insurance to the police officer, even though it was not really valid. I don?t know what to do now. I don?t know how to get the money to fix my car. First you want to notify the police that the driver did not actually have insurance. He will be in violation of the law and they will take it from there. If you did not have ?Uninsured Motorist? protection on your policy then you are entirely responsible for all damages to your vehicle. You can as a long shot file civil damages against the uninsured motorist and place liens on all properties and assets. That will only serve you well if there are any assets. Even if there are no assets at this time you may receive monies in the future should the driver come into any money or acquire assets. In any case you should pursue judgment against the driver. What ever you do don?t just sit back and do nothing.

How can I drive a car in Texas legally with no insurance?
I heard there is a way to have a deposit of something like $50,000 with TxDOT of something like that and you get a certificate to prove your financially responsible and are not required to have insurance. Tell me about this.

If you have $50K lying around, by all means buy some insurance; the companies have experience and resources for settling claims that you don?t. It?s worth it.
